Brooklyn-Based Barber Shop to Open in Midtown

August 14, 2014, 4:14 PM

Fellow Barber, a Brooklyn-based chain of hip, old fashion barber shops that offers traditional cuts and straight-razor shaves, is opening up in Midtown Detroit this fall, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Sherri Welch of Crain's writes that the shop will operate out of 441 W. Canfield St. in an 1,800-square-foot space in the same building as Shinola/Detroit LLC and Willys Detroit. The owners of the chain are Michigan native William Tigertt and founder Sam Buffa.

The shop bills itself as a "hassle-free, yet high quality experience, without the pretensions of a salon. Often credited for the revival of time-honored barbershop traditions, Fellow Barber’s expertly trained barbers provide classic men’s cuts and straight-razor shaves to a discerning clientele."

It currently operates five locations in San Francisco, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
