Ernie Harwell's Old House in Northwest Detroit Is Up for Sale

August 25, 2014, 3:39 PM

The northwest Detroit home that the late Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell once owned is up for sale for pretty cheap.

Sarah Cox of Curbed Detroit reports that the home at 15124 Greenview Rd. in the Grandmont/Rosedale area is being sold for $38,500.  According to Zillow, the house became bank-owned in January and is now listed as a foreclosure, Curbed reports.

Harwell died in 2010. The article doesn't say when Harwell last lived in the two-bedroom home, built in 1941. But it was known that he had moved to Farmington Hills at some point and lived there many years.

Harwell spent 42 years calling games for the Detroit Tigers.
