George Costanza talks about shrinkage

Shrinkage. There's a Seinfeld episode where George Costanza is at a beach house and a woman sees him naked. He tells Jerry that he's concerned about the person seeing him in a state of "shrinkage."

Well, Senate hopeful Gary Peters is seeing a little shrinkage of a different kind.

The latest poll shows Congressman Gary Peters' lead over Republican opponent Terri Lynn Land in the race for U.S. Senate has experienced a little shrinkage.

WXYZ reports that Peters leads by six points, down from nine points last month. The margin of error for this survey was plus or minus 4.0 percent.

The poll, that surveyed 600 likely Michigan voters, was conducted by EPIC MRA. Forty-five percent said they would cast their ballot for Peters, 39 percent would vote for Land, and 16 percent are undecided, WXYZ reported.

Meanwhile, a poll for the governor's race shows Gov. Rick Snyder and challenger Mark Schauer in a statistical dead heat, according to Wood TV in Grand Rapids. -- Allan Lengel
