Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander expects to be the center of attention when he pitches before big crowds.
But he's obviously not too wild about being the center of attention when it comes to the nude photos of him and Kate Upton that surfaced Sunday on the Internet. A number of nude celebrity photos surfaced over the weekend online. The FBI is investigating how a hacker was able to obtain the photos.
On Tuesday at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Verlander declined to comment on the photos or anything about his private life, according to an article by Tom Gage of The Detroit News.
“I don’t talk about my personal life, I never have,” Verlander said. “I keep my personal life personal."
Fans have sometimes criticized Verlander when he's pitched poorly, and blamed him for being distracted by Kate Upton.
“The focus for me is on the Detroit Tigers. I don’t want to take any focus away from the team and what we are trying to accomplish," he said Tuesday.
He added, according to the News:
“We’re in the middle of a pennant race. We’re trying to win a pennant. My focus is on whatever I can do to help our team.”
