General Motors is taking advantage of Lowe Campbell Ewald's decision to jump ship in Warren and head to Detroit.

Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit business reports that General Motors has purchased the advertising firm's  headquarters building on Van Dyke, north of 12 Mile Road in Warren.

Crain's, citing CoStar Group Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based real estate information service, reports that GM paid $2 million for the 150,000-square-foot building.

“Ultimately, the building will serve as an extension of the Technical Center, providing us with additional office space for our employees and visitors,” Renee Rashid-Merem, GM’s director of global product development, wrote in an email to Crain’s.
