Whole Foods is looking to open a second store in Detroit, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Kirk Pinho of Crain's writes that Co-CEO Walter Robb made the announcement Thursday morning at the "Detroit Homecoming" conference sponsored by Crain's. Robb spoke at a College for Creative Studies design annex in Midtown.

Whole Foods opened a store in Midtown in June 2013 and has picked sites in distressed areas elsewhere, often spurring new development.

Another conference speaker, prominent investor Warren Buffett, tell Crain's interviewer Dustin Walsh that he’s bullish on the city and is looking for the right investment.

“We’re ready to buy a business here tomorrow,” Buffett said. “Every city has issues. . . . That’s the time to buy.”

The billionaire is chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, based in Omaha.
