Floods sucker-punched the Metro Detroit area in the summer. On Sunday, Rochester Hills took a hit from something else on mother nature's scary menu.
The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado with 90 mph gusts touched down Sunday at 5:57 a.m., WXYZ reports. At least 30 homes were damaged, but there were no injuries.
The station reported that the tornado was categorized as an EF-1 tornado. EF is a standard measurement for a tornado. It stands for Enhance Fujita. The measurement ranges from F0 to AF5. An AF1 is the second-weakest tornado level.
