Gov. Rick Snyder is replacing filmmaker Michael Moore on the Michigan Film Advisory Council with a suburban businessman,Ted Serbinski of Birmingham.

It's not known if Moore, whose appointment expires Sept., 30, wanted to step down. But it is clear that Moore's and Snyder's politics are an awkward fit.

Moore was appointed to the 14-member council by Gov. Jennifer Granholm. The appointment is a four-year term.

WWJ reports that Snyder will renominate Birmingham advertising executive Bill Ludwig, whose term also is up next week.

Serbinski, a principal at Detroit Venture Partners, was director of technology at Lifetime Television in 2008-09.

Moore, who is active on Facebook and Twitter, has not commented on the matter.
