The investigation into the murder of April Millsap, 14, of Armada, appears to be heating up.

Katrease Stafford of the Detroit Free Press reports that a 32-year-old man who was mentioned in August as a person of interest may be charged soon, according to his lawyer.

Stafford writes:

Attorney Dean Ankouny told the Free Press Monday evening that he and his client, James Donald VanCallise, just wrapped up "dozens and dozens" of hours worth of extensive interviews with police and prosecutors and he wouldn't be surprised if his client is formally charged later this week.

VanCallise was named a person of interest in August in the investigation of 14-year-old April Millsap's death. April was found dead July 24 along the Macomb Orchard Trail in Armada after she didn't return home from walking her dog.
