Update: Friday, 9:30 p.m. -- Authorities are expected to charge at least three people in connection with the multiple shootings on Thursday, one of which resulted in the death of a 3-year-old girl, a source said. Arrest warrants had not been issued as of Friday night, but the three people remained in custody. Three others who had been taken into custody had been released.
Update -- Friday, 11:25 a.m.: Six people have been arrested in connection with a Thursday afternoon shooting on Detroit's east side, a source tells Deadline Detroit. Authorities believe two of the people opened fire.
The beef started on Facebook and spilled over into the street, the source said. As of early afternoon, no one had been officially charged and it was unclear how many of the six in custody will face charges.

One of those in custody is the 23-year-old suspected shooter, according to WDIV reporter Shawn Ley, who tweets that Police Chief James Craig is preparing to speak about developments in the case. The broadcaster adds this detail:

Police believe gang members were responsible for a shooting that killed a three-year-old girl and wounded four others on Detroit's east side on Thursday, media reports say.
A relative says the girl's parents were among those wounded and are expected to recover, according to Ron Savage of Fox 2. The girl is identified as Amiracle Williams.
Fox 2 reports that the altercation first began near Detroit Denby High School where one person was wounded. The people involved then went to Hayes and Mogul, about a mile away, where four others were shot and wounded. Police said the dispute may have begun on social media.
"The shooting started at Denby and it was one victim," Police Chief James Craig, according to Fox 2. "(Police) responded and we got a report of shots fired in this block of Mogul. We found four victims of the shooting including a toddler that succumbed to her injuries. "We concluded that the individuals responsible are gang members."
A male and female suspect are in custody, and police are looking for four others.
