Detroit News photographer Daniel Mears videotaped tryouts Tuesday for the Broadway and touring casts of "Motown: The Musical."
Aspiring singers performed at the the Motown Historical Museum in Detroit. The tape ends with an impressive a cappella delivery by Donte Terrell, 10.
The show, which opened Tuesday at the Fisher Theater and runs through Nov. 16, is about the life of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.
