A Detroit man's family has filed a lawsuit against the owner of 12 pit bulls that nearly mauled him to death a month ago on Detroit's east side, Maurielle Lue reports on Fox 2.

Steven Constantine's injuries are so extensive - including losing three limbs - doctors say he'll have to undergo dozens of operations.

The attack happened Oct. 2 on Detroit's east side in the 4500 block of Pennsylvania.

A lawsuit was filed Monday by the Constantine family against the owner of the dogs, Derrick Felton and his mother who owns the house where the attack took place.

The Constantine family is represented by attorney Mark Bernstein who says the family is seeking significant damages, saying the incident is a clear cut case under Michigan's Dog Bite Law.

"This case isn't about pit bulls its about people," Bernstein said. "It's about how people take responsibility for their actions.
