President Barack Obama, whose approval rating is below 50 percent, is slated to speak Saturday night at a Wayne State University rally for gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer and U.S. Senate contender Gary Peters.
The appearance is at 7 p.m. at the Matthaei Physical Education Center at 5101 John C. Lodge, which has about 1,300 seats. It's not known whether standing spectators also will be allowed in. Doors open at 4 p.m.
The Michigan Democratic Party gives away tickets at these offices, starting Wednesday at 5 p.m.:
