Josh Linkner, author and entrepreneur, has stepped down as  as CEO and managing partner of Detroit Venture Partners, the venture capital firm in the Madison Building in downtown Detroit that invests in early-stage digital technology companies, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Tom Henderson of Crain's reports that Linker said he wants to focus on speaking engagements and writing books. Linkner in 1999 founded Pleasant Ridge-based ePrize Inc. It was sold in 2012.

“I’ve stepped down from a full-time position. It’s a friendly split. I’ll remain as a partner, and we remain friends, but the time I’ve been spending speaking and writing has accelerated dramatically,” Linkner told Crain’s on Tuesday.

“I’m a bit torn. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, and it will continue. It’s important work, and we’ve made a big impact in the city. But I’ve got a lot of opportunities to pursue creative outlets,” he said.
