The Weather Channel to Acquire Ann Arbor-Based Weather Service

We're obsessed with weather, and for good reason. It can kill or sooth or depress or make or break our vacation.

So it stands to reason that the Georgia-based The Weather Channel would be interested in expanding its reach and grabbing the Ann Arbor-based weather database and website, The Weather Underground Inc.

Crain's Detroit Business reports that the The Weather Channel is expected to acquire the Ann Arbor company, which was founded by the University of Michigan, but later became a private company.
