Inevitably, Moving NFL Game To Detroit Draws 'Humorous' Jab

You knew this would happen, right? Picking Detroit as a bailout site for the snowbound Buffalo Bills strikes a national sportscaster as ironic, amusing and an irresistible cheap-shot chance.

Hey, we've heard 'em all, Doug Gottlieb of CBS Sports Radio -- our city has been a national piñata for longer than the 14 years you've been out of Oklahoma State.   

So bring us your tired humor, your poor cracks yearning to get laughs -- such as this tweet after the NFL's game-move decision:

That supposed hilarity is retweeted more than 300 times and also generates more than a few derisive replies -- eight of which are posted at CBS Detroit by webmaster Evan Jankens.

Jankens, 31, also gives his own reaction:

As someone who’s there all the time, I’m pretty sure Ford Field is a safe place. When I leave the field hours after the game has finished and walk around downtown to get to my car, I’ve never worried about being “safe” in Detroit.

Mr. Gottlieb should come take a tour of the city. Maybe he would rethink his comments.
