Video: 2 Minutes With A Downtown Detroit Coffee Shop Owner

Josh Greenwood is a character. It doesn't take long into a conversation to learn that.

He owns the Urban Bean Co. coffee shop at Griswold and Grand River in downtown Detroit, in the up and coming Capitol Park business district.

He bought the odd-shaped, two-story building in 2001 when things in the neighborhood weren't looking quite as promising. He opened up the coffee shop in 2008, but went out of business after a couple years because of the depressed economy. He re-opened in 2013.

Recently, during this last campaign, he had Gov. Rick Snyder and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stop by and meet with local business people. The protestors outside weren't impressed with the star power.

Deadline Detroit's Allan Lengel stopped by his shop the other day to chat.
