Don't expect to see Clawson School Board Trustee Linda Grossman performing at a comedy club any time soon -- or at least until she brushes up on her humor.

Grossman resigned after she made a flip comment during a board meeting on Nov. 10 about kids with food allergies, saying: "We should just shoot them," according to Fox 2. Some of the board members laughed.

Had Howard Stern said that as a board member, maybe he could have gotten away with it. But Grossman's no comedian.

On Tuesday, the school board announced in a letter that Grossman had resigned.

Fox 2's Erika Erickson reports that some parents were outraged by the remark.

The discussion started about snacks. When it was mentioned that there are 20 students at Kenwood Elementary School with food allergies, Grossman made the remark.
Clawson Superintendent Monique Beels and board president Kevin Turner issued a statement to parents:

"We were stunned and saddened by a comment recently made by a member of the Board of Education of Clawson Public Schools. Although the comment was an inappropriate attempt at humor, it was most insensitive. It does not represent the views of our district nor our Board of Education.
