Tom Greene, A Lansing Watchdog Who Broke Big Stories,1936-2012
Tom Greene was a major presence on local TV in the 1970s and '80s not only for his big stories but also for his big moustache and outsized physique.
His reports about Lansing politicians were hard-hitting, so much so that he adopted the on-air surname of Greene, although his real name was Thomas Pratt, his wife, Dottie Pratt, told the Free Press.
Mr. Pratt died Friday at St. Lawrence Hospice in Lansing from complications of pneumonia following years of poor health. He was 75.
