Tech Jobs: Compuware Is Hiring Again in Downtown Detroit

January 13, 2015, 9:43 PM

The restructured Compuware is recruiting, and a top executive has his name on a Tuesday announcement of three openings.

Christopher O'Malley: "We need high-performance, high-octane people."

"We are looking for outrageously, extraordinary candidates for the following R&D roles based here in Detroit," says Compuware president and CEO Christopher O'Malley.

The openings are for a software product manager, mainframe Agile software test engineer and an entry-level Java web developer. They's join the team rolling out Topaz, a new enterprise data discovery, visualization and editing program.

"We need high-performance, high-octane people that are excited to become part of our growing Detroit-based Compuware R&D team," O'Malley says in the LinkedIn pitch.

These are exciting times to be at Compuware and, for the right people, an amazing opportunity to build a career within a redesigned, fast paced, innovative  software company. . . .Opportunities like these don't come very often!

Last September, Compuware agreed to be acquired by a private equity firm Thoma Bravo of Chicago. The roughly $2.5-billion sale took effect last month.

The mainframe business unit kept the Compuware name and focuses solely on mainframe software. Compuware's former application performance management business operates independently under the new Dynatrace name.
