After presiding over a historic bankruptcy, Detroit U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes is calling it quits.

Not a bad way to ride off into the sunset after such a high-profile case.

An email sent out by the court Friday afternoon stated:

The Honorable Judge Steven Rhodes is retiring after 30 years on the bench.  Judge Rhodes' last day on the bench will be Wednesday February 18th 2015. Attached is the official request for a new Judge to preside over any unresolved issues in the historic Detroit Chapter 9 Bankruptcy Case.
