As Kilpatrick Name Goes Up in Flames, So Does Bernard Kilpatrick's Car

First the Kilpatrick family name went up in flames with a trail of bad luck that included federal indictments and son Kwame being dethroned as mayor.

Now this.

WXZY reports that Bernard Kilpatrick, father of Kwame, saw his 2001 Nissan Maxima go up in flames at the Kroger parking lot at Nine Mile Road and John R on July 4.

The station reports that the fire department extinguished the flames and the car had to be towed. Authorities don't suspect don't anything suspicious.

Kilpatick, his son and two others go on trial federal court in Detroit in September on a host of public corruption charges.
