Meijer Looking for Hundreds of Workers for Second Detroit Store

Meijer is continuing to make its mark in Detroit.

Ian Thibodeau of MLive reports that Meijer's second supercenter in Detroit, slated to open by early summer at Grand River and McNichols, plans to hire 270 "Detroit area candidates" for positions including clerks and cake decorators.The company is accepting online applications. 

The 190,000-square-foot store is being advertised as a "neighborhood store."

MLive reports that co-Chairman Hank Meijer said last summer: "We want to see this neighborhood thrive and attract more competitors."

The first store in Detroit opened at Woodward and 8 Mile Road.
