DIA Expands Thursday Hours for the Diego Rivera/Frida Kahlo Exhibit

March 24, 2015, 12:05 PM

The Detroit Institute of Arts will stay open later each Thursday during the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo exhibition, which goes through July 12.

The museum will remain open until 10 p.m. on Thursday. Weekday tickets for the exhibition are $14 for adults, $5 less than Saturday and Sunday tickets. The museum is closed on Monday and is open Tuesday and Wednesday until 4 p.m. (Buy or reserve tickets here.)

An announcement says hours are lengthened to "offer an additional weekday option for those who like to start the weekend early, and for the convenience of those are unable to attend during the day on weekdays. Due to the exhibition’s popularity, Saturdays and Sundays are the most crowded, with some time slots already sold out. It will also be easier to find parking on Thursday nights."

The DIA said Café DIA will be open until 9 p.m. on Thursday,  and Azul, a temporary taco bar serving margaritas and Mexican beers, and Kresge Court, will remain open until 9:30 p.m.
