The Free Press Is Really, Really Sorry It Has Endorsed John Conyers

The Free Press is endorsing U.S. Rep. John Conyers, Stephen Henderson writes, "because of who he was, and because there's not an alternative sufficiently better to justify throwing over his seniority and still powerful voice on civil rights issues."

He adds: "But that doesn't mean I have to like it."

Henderson hopes in two years, when Conyers will be 85, he realizes it is time to step down.

He also hopes a smart, dynamic person steps forward to run for the office.
