Update: Tuesday, 5:50 p.m.-- An autopsy shows that Terrance Kellom, 20, who was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer on Monday, died from multiple gunshot wounds, WDIV reports. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled it a homicide.

Investigators and prosecutors must now determine whether it was justifiable homicide or it warrants criminal charges. Authorities allege that the suspect, who was wanted on a fugitive warrant, charged at officers with a hammer.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who fatally shot a fugitive on Monday afternoon on Detroit's northwest side has been with the agency for more than seven years and has "no history of adverse personnel actions," the agency said Tuesday in a statement.

"While the internal probe is pending, consistent with the agency's Use of Force Policy, the office has been placed on administrative leave," the statement said.

The officer is a lifelong Detroiter and previously worked as a Detroit cop for 12 years.

Authorities said that the ICE officer was part of a federal fugitive task force in Detroit that was executing an arrest warrant for the 20-year-old fugitive who was wanted for armed robbery and felony fireams.

Police say the task force entered the home without force and the man came charging at the officers with a hammer when he was shot.

Authorities said the matter is being investigated.

Some neighbors in the area on Monday were angry and demanded answers. Police Chief James Craig assured people the incident would be thoroughly investigated.
