Ex-VA Manager Accused of Embezzling $150,000 For Hookers and Gambling

Glenn Alan Bates knew how to live a wild life on the government's dime.

Robert Snell of the Detroit News reports that the former federal employee has admitted embezzling about $150,000 from a Veterans Administration retail store, known as a canteen, that he managed in Ann Arbor--  and using the cash for strippers, hookers and gambling.

He's scheduled to be arraigned today in federal court.

The store is part of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System on Fuller Road, the News reports.

Bates admits that he often spent $500 or more a night on lap dances.

He managed the store from 2006 to 2013. It is  part of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System on Fuller Road.
