Hiller's 846 Employees to Get the Ax Before Kroger Takes Over

Here's a pretty good way to create a  public relations nightmare.

Kroger announced last week that it was buying seven Hiller's markets in Metro Detroit and rebranding them as Kroger markets.

Now, WDIV reports that attorneys for Hiller's have notified the Michigan Workforce Development Agency of plans to terminate all 846 of Hiller's employees. 

The closing of Hiller's stores will take place between June 30 and July 13.

WDIV reports that Kroger is encouraging those employees to apply for jobs with Kroger.
