It's been written in media accounts that Tigers manager Brad Ausmus is one of the more handsome managers in the majors. In 2013, Craig Calcaterra of NBC sports ranked managers by handsomeness and Ausmus was ranked #1.
When my girlfriend was here in Orlando over the weekend we were sitting in the lobby and Brad Ausmus came in the front door of the hotel. She sprung up, followed him and said “I’ll text you later.” And I wasn’t even mad, man. I get it. He’s movie star handsome.
Well, the Tigers have decided to have a little fun with that.
Nearly every player was given a T-shirt Wednesday with Ausmus' face on it and the word "Dreamy" spelled with an Old English D, James Schmehl of MLive writes.
Some Tigers wore it in the clubhouse, including Jose Iglesias, who had no idea how the shirt wound up in his locker, MLive adds.
So far, it's a mystery as to who printed up the T-shirts, but Ausmus thinks it was Alex Avila.
"I think it was Alex. That's my guess," Ausmus told MLive. "He has free time. He boldly walked into the room wearing it in front of me. So I assume that's his way of bragging."
