Yes, Kwame Kilpatrick is gone, but not forgotten. There are occasional reminders.

The latest: George Hunter of The Detroit News reports that Kilpatrick's former Detroit Police bodyguard, Loronzo "Greg" Jones,  was suspended Thursday for leaving his post in 2014 while working downtown. He drove a relative from Dearborn to Southfield and then falsified his activity log.

Jones, played football with Kilpatrick at Cass Tech High School.

The Board of Police Commissioners on Thursday upheld a Trial Board decision last year to suspend him for 16 days.

The News reports:

While working in uniform as part of the Detroit Police Secondary Employment Program on Feb. 19, 2014, Jones drove a squad car to the Fairlane Town Center Apartments in Dearborn and picked up a relative, identified as Anthony Morris, whom he drove to an apartment complex on 9 Mile in Southfield. He was gone three hours.
