The Jimmy Kimmel Live show on Thursday night aired a mock Shinola Detroit commercial that featured a game show, "Can You Tell S#*t From Shinola?"
The commercial features a game show host and two contestants who are given two similar items and asked to guess which one is "shit" and which one is Shinola. The word "shit" is partially blurted out during the commercial.
The contestants toss the lousy product in a trash can.
The phrase "You don't know shit from Shinola," became popular during World War II and was a reference to the shoe polish named Shinola.
