Boy,10, Dies in Southfield House Fire

While Nathaniel Mosby's mom was working the graveyard shift at a nursing home in Farmington HIlls on Tuesday, her Southfield home caught fire. Her son Nathaniel, 10, never made it out and died, the Oakland Press reports.

John Turk of the Oakland Press reports that the fire broke out just after 6 a.m. at the home in the 28000 block of Marshall Street, south of  12 Mile Road and west of Greenfield. It started in the back of the house, near Nathaniel’s bedroom and playroom.

The paper reports that Nathaniel and his  23-year-old sister made it to the front of the home, and both were unresponsive when they were carried outside by firefighters. 

The paper reports that paramedics performed CPR on Nathaniel and his sister. He died a short time later. His sister is in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
