Either ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd expects too much, or University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh's answers really sucked.
Cowherd says the conversation Wednesday with Harbaugh was his "clunkiest interview ever," Jim Russ of The Detroit News reports . Clearly, it wasn't very exciting.
After Harbaugh answered about 10 questions via phone, the morning drive-time host cut the interview off and said:
"I've been in the business 10 years, folks. That was a clunker. There's not much I can do about that. I tried. I asked every open-ended question I could. He had nothing to say. . . .
"I really like him and think he'll turn it around. But when I bring Urban Meyer on the show and Nick Saban on the show and Sark (Steve Sarkisian) on the show, they've figured out how to sell their program. Bob Stoops (Oklahoma) comes on this show, he's unbelievable. Nick Saban's unbelievable on the air.
Early Wednesday afternoon, the coach yanks the broadcaster's chain on Twitter:
In my experience of participating in interviews, I've found it takes 2 to produce a clunker! I'll take 50% responsibility 4 this clunker.
