Metro Detroit Theaters Ban Costumes Following Batman Movie Shooting Spree
The craziness in Colorado is impacting theaters around the country including in Metro Detroit.
The Detroit News reports that MJR and AMC Theaters banned patrons from dressing up in costumes at movies. MJR has nine movie complexes in Southeastern Michigan and AMC has seven in Metro Detroit. The move was part of a nationwide trend in response to the Colorado shooting in Aurora that left at least 12 people dead. They had come to watch the Batman movie: "The Dark Knight Rises."
"We're not going to permit any masks or costumes from this day forward," MJR owner Mike Mihalich said, according to the News.
