Sorry Kid Rock, You Can't Play at a Michigan Women's Prison

No, it doesn't appear to be because of his affection for the Confederate flag.

The Michigan Department of Corrections simply cited security issues in denying a Los Angeles-based television production company permission to film a concert-style Kid Rock music video inside a women’s prison, The Detroit News reports.

Chad Livengood writes that the production firm had asked the state permission for Kid Rock to perform a concert for 2,000 female inmates at the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Ypsilanti, according to Chris Gautz, communications director for the Department of Corrections.

“We politely informed them that’s not something we would be able to accommodate because something like that creates a host of security issues for us,” Gautz tells The News.
