So it ends up that the most exciting part of the Tigers 2015 season is guessing whether the Tigers will pull the plug and wave the white flag long before the last game of the season in Chicago on Oct. 4.

Die-hard fans are still crossing their fingers that the Tigers add a player or two.

But on Wednesday, Tigers General Manager Dave Dombrowski confirmed an ESPN report that the Tigers are interested in "rebooting," and are entertaining offers for any of players about to become free agents.

Yes, that means David Price and Yoenis Cespedes, two key pieces for the Tigers if the team hopes to compete the remainder of the  year. It would also include reliever Joakim Soria. His departure would not likely upset too many Tigers fans.

"We're only going to make a trade if we think it makes sense for us," the GM said, according to MLB.com. "But we think it gives us a chance to restock our club."

The news came on the same day the Tigers showed some hope, with Justin Verlander going eight innings and giving up only one run. Joakim Soria finished up the ninth and the Tigers won 2-1. The team is now 12.5 games out of first.
