Henry Ford Opening Detroit Clinic Aimed At Millennials and Gen Xers

Henry Ford Health System is opening a new medical clinic at 1515 Woodward Ave. in downtown Detroit that's being billed as "a way to deliver health care to today’s technology-driven millennials and Gen Xers the way they want it: Convenient and affordable."

The clinic opens Monday.

A press release from Henry Ford says:

The Henry Ford QuickCare Clinic, #HFQuickCare, is not your parents’ doctor’s office, though baby boomers and seniors are welcome to receive care here, too.

The ubiquitous waiting room is a thing of the past. Patients can simply walk in for care or self-schedule a visit using an online reservation tool that holds their spot in line. A text reminds patients of their visit time and resets the time if there are delays at the clinic, allowing patients to go about their business until they are ready to be seen.

Patients are seen by a nurse practitioner, who is a registered nurse with advanced education and clinical training. A nurse practitioner assesses, diagnoses and treats illness, orders and interprets diagnostic tests and prescribes medications. Patients at QuickCare will be seen for common illnesses such as ear infections, flu, sore throats and upper respiratory infections. When appropriate, the nurse practitioner will consult with Henry Ford Medical Group physicians.

Hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday.  Most health insurance plans are accepted. Otherwise, Henry Ford Healthy Systems says payment is by credit or debit card and a standard clinic visit is $85.
