Did the Detroit Medical Center have a hand in the death of a homeless man?
When he wouldn't leave after being treated Wednesday at Receiving Hospital, Jim Kiertzner of WXYZ reports, hospital security drove the man elsewhere and placed him on a street bench at night near a homeless shelter.
He died within minutes, WXYZ says.
Sources tell Kiertzner that 911 was called and the man was dead on arrival back at Detroit Receiving.
The hospital issues this statement:
We are saddened to hear of this loss. After the gentleman left the hospital, our security team provided him a safe transport to a local shelter.
