State legislators may miss Mackinac Conference

Something to file under first world problems: The Mackinac Policy Conference’s new Tuesday-Thursday schedule, adjusted so Detroit's leadership class can participate in the annual public policy conclave without missing the Detroit Grand Prix. means it will be virtually impossible for Michigan legislators to attend the annual event.
Sadly, they’ll be too busy finishing the state budget—you know, their job—because mean, old Governor Rick Snyder wants to it on his desk June 1. The Mackinac Conference runs from May 29-31 at the Grand Hotel.
I’ll tell you what, if do-nothing legislators aren’t free to attend a three-day event with an open bar, then this is not the America I grew up. I just want my country back! - JW
