Flint's water problem, which may impact residents' health for years, is not going away.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office and federal Environmental Protection Agency are looking into lead contamination of the city's drinking water, Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Gina Balaya of the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to say whether the investigation is a criminal or civil matter. "We're just confirming that we're looking into it," Balaya tells the paper.

"In an effort to address the concerns of Flint residents, the United States Attorney’s Office for the eastern district of Michigan is working closely with the EPA in the investigation of the contamination of the city of Flint’s water supply," she says.
