Delmon Young
Suffice to say, ex-Tiger outfielder Delmon Young, who played for Baltimore last season, has some anger issues.
You might recall back in 2012 in New York, when he was playing for the Tigers, he was charged in Manhattan after tackling an orthodox Jew who was panhandling and shouted "You bunch of fucking Jews!" He ended up pleading guilty to aggravated harassment and was suspended by the league for seven days without pay.
Now, Young, 30, who's a free agent afterr being was released by Baltimore last July, is in trouble again.
Young is accused of choking a valet attendant on Sunday in a hate-filled, drunken attack in Miami, writes Dan Good of the New York Daily News. He was arrested by Miami Police and charged with one count of battery. The Daily News cited a police report obtained by ABC affiliate WPLG.
The report says that Young had approached the valet and told him to open the access door to the elevator of Club 50. The valet told him that the elevator was closed because the club was closed.
Young became irate and told him: "Stupid Cuban. Open the fucking door. I'm here, now what?"
Young walked away and returned moments later, the report said, and told him to open the door again. After the valet said he couldn't, Young responded: "I'm going to fucking kill you you Latin piece of shit."
The report says he then reached over the valet podium and grabbed the valet around the neck with both hands and started to strangle him for about five seconds before the valet was able to peel Young's fingers from his neck.
Young then fled to the Vicetroy Miami where he resides. Hotel security provided police with the condo number where he lives. Young answered the door, naked from the waist down. The cop asked him to get dressed and provide ID.
The police report said Young was "unsteady on his feet and spoke with slurred speech." He reportedly was belligerent and told the cop: "I'll slap you in the face with money, you f----ing Cuban." He was then arrested.
