Didarul Sarder, the valet supervisor at the GM Tech Center, who was suspended after he pulled out his gun to stop a daughter from continually stabbing her mother at the GM property in Warren on Wednesday, will be back on the job, General Motors said Friday afternoon.

“Didarul Sarder will return to his assigned position at the GM Tech Center on Monday," GM spokesman Michael Albano said in a statement. "We understand that there were conflicting reports on his employment status with the valet vendor, but he was not terminated, just placed on paid suspension until the facts of the incident were investigated.”

You might recall that Sarder said he was escorted off the property by General Motors after the incident for violating the no-weapons policy on the grounds. SP+, the Chicago-based valet company that provides services at the GM Tech Center,  said Thursday that Sarder had been suspended pending an internal investigation. The company also has a no-weapons policy on the job. Sarder has a concealed weapons permit.

The spokesperson for the valet company could not be immediately reached for comment Friday.

There had been some confusion of the job status of Sarder on Thursday.

Warren Mayor James Fouts said Thursday on Facebook that the person who had ordered Sarder off the GM grounds was overruled, and Sarder was back on the job. At that point, the information about Sarder being back on the job was premature. He was still suspended.

Fouts  also wrote:

I would like to commend Didarul Sarder who probably saved a 52 year old woman from being murdered by quick action. Outside the GM Tech Center this morning he observed a 52 year old female repeatedly being stabbed with a kitchen knife in her back, neck, and abdomen. His quick action using a licensed hand gun on the attacker undoubtedly saved this woman's life. Had he not legally exercised his second amendment rights this woman would probably not be with us today.

The woman who was stabbed, a GM employee, was  hospitalized and reportedly in stable condition as of Friday. Her daughter, Chevonne Taylor, 32, was charged in 37th District Court on Frriday with assault with intent to murder and a carrying a dangerous weapon, the Macomb Daily reports.  She was ordered held on a $500,000 bond.
