Kwame Discloses Conflict With His Attorney That Could Delay Trial

In what the Free Press calls  "a startling development,"  U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds said this morning Kwame Kilpatrick has a conflict of interest with his attorney in his upcoming public corruption trial, which could delay proceedings.

“Mr. Kwame Kilpatrick has raised an issue involving an actual conflict of interest,” with his lawyer James Thomas, Edmunds said in court.

Emunds did not disclose what the conflict of interest was.

She will hold a hearing on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. regarding the conflict.
