"I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world," model Kate Upton tells E! News, confirming her engagement to Tigers ace Justin Verlander. "I’m really excited. She acknowledged the obvious when journalists spotted what TMZ calls "a massive ring" on her hand at a Metropolitan Museum of Art fashion gala in Manhattan on Monday night. TMZ adds:
Upton hit the red carpet at the event Monday night sporting the boulder on her finger and essentially stole the show from all the other huge stars at the event.
Don't worry, Justin can afford it. He signed a $180-million contract in 2013.
The setting was the Met Gala, "where New York's entertainment and media chic mix and mingle with Hollywood's A-List crowd," as the Los Angeles Times puts it.

Verlander, who turned 33 in February, has partnered with Upton, 23, since 2012. She's a native of St. Joseph, Mich., who has been on the covers of Vogue and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit Issue.
There's no word yet on when or where the nuptials will be, or what's on their wedding registry gift lists.
