Tigers star slugger Miguel Cabrera plans later this month to unveil the "Miggy Hat" collection that bears the M/Crown logo, representing his Major League batting Triple Crown in 2012.
On Thursday, May 19, from 7-9 p.m., he plans to distribute a limited number of hats at a launch party at Second Story, 900 Orchard Ave., Ferndale, which sells custom framing and other products including sports and entertainment photos and memorabilia.

Attendees -- limited to 300 -- will get a hat and meet Cabrera, who will sign the hat or a photo. Additionally, an undetermined number of hats will be available for sale that night.
It's not cheap to attend. Tickets are $200, which also includes food and drink provided by Detroit Taco Company, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Melting Pot, Garden Fresh Salsa, American Badass Beer and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Kathy Vargo, a publicist, said following the Ferndale event, there won't be any more hats available for sale until final distribution plans are announced.
