From her Facebook post, it's clear WDET reporter Sandra Svoboda doesn't like it when people litter.

While driving to work around Mack and the Dequindre Cut on Detroit's east side Friday, she saw someone tossing trash. She posts:

I was driving in to work today...and a bag of trash went flying out the passenger window of the car in front of me. Right onto the Dequindre Cut extension greenway.

So at the next red light, I rolled down my passenger window and asked the driver "Why did you litter?" and had a little discussion about showing respect for this city and the people who live and work here.

He told me it just seemed like the thing to do at the time and that I was right.

Svoboda tells Deadline Detroit while the man seemed to agree he was in the wrong, he drove off without retrieving the trash.

Admittedly, it's not the first time Svoboda says she confronted a litterbug.

About two years ago, she says she was riding her bike along the river front when she spotted a group of young women, one of whom tossed a plastic water bottle in the bushes.

She said she stopped and let the woman know there was a trash can nearby.

Svoboda then fetched the bottle and tossed it in the trash.
