L. Brooks Patterson Suffers Broken Bones, Scalp Injuries in Auto Accident

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson is being treated at a Pontiac hospital after being injured in a car accident.

Patterson, 73, underwent surgery Friday evening after sustaining serious injuries and is expected to recover, said Chief Deputy Oakland County Executive Gerald Poisson.

Patterson was alert and talking to hospital staff when he arrived at McLaren Oakland, said Dr. Tressa Gardner, Chief of Emergency Medicine at the hospital.

Patterson suffered injuries to his scalp and several orthopedic injuries, including broken bones, Gardner said.
