The ideal candidate will have a rich understanding of how big-city politics can have big impact on citizens, plus a track record for breaking significant stories. This intense beat demands a reporter who can chronicle the city’s problems – and efforts to solve them – from inside City Hall and on the streets.

Covering Detroit is highly competitive and requires a reporter skilled at quick-turns, enterprise, analysis and depth. Applicants must have significant digital savvy and understand the importance of breaking news across all platforms and using social media.
