A pregnant mom tells WXYZ that her three-year old daughter bit into a hamburger with glass at a Wendy's in Southgate on Monday and had to be treated at the hospital.

"You can' think of your baby and what could happen and the things you don't know could happen... your mind just starts to race," the mother, identified only as Vanessa, tells Jennifer Bisram.

"She bit into her burger, we were inside, and she started to crunch this super loud crunch. . . . That wasn't normal." The girl started to cry.

"I was telling her don't swallow, don't swallow. As I was pulling her food out, I was pulling food out and blood out and I saw particles of glass on my fingers."

The woman says she called police and then took her daughter to the hospital.

On Tuesday, Starboard Group, which owns the Wendy's on Northline in Southgate told WXYZ:

"This is an extremely unfortunate accident and we quickly investigated, it appears a light bulb may have broken during maintenance activity in the restaurant."
