Those looking to join the team at Wahlburgers in Greektown face stiff competition.

Hundreds of applicants lined the concrete in Greektown on Wednesday and Thursday to interview at the Greektown Casino Hotel for about 150 server, bartender and cook positions at the franchise burger joint owned by actor Mark Wahlberg  and brothers Paul and Donnie, Fox 2 reports The restaurant is slated to open July 23.

Applicants also hoped to catch a glimpse of Mark Wahlberg, who was expected to make an appearance.  Wahlberg, who has been in town filming Transformer 5,  said he fell in love with Detroit while filming the blockbuster hit "Transformers: Age of Extinction" at various locations around the city.

Wahlberg told Fox 2 that he connects with the work ethic of Detroiters and, as a car enthusiast, appreciates the history of the auto industry.

The restaurant currently has locations in Boston, Orlando, New York and Toronto.

Besides beef and turkey burgers, Walburgers serves a filet fish, chicken and portobello sandwich, hot dogs, salads, potato tots, sweet potato and regular fries and mac 'n cheese,
